Scarecrows invading Nyssa, block party planned

NYSSA – The celebration of fall is apparent around Nyssa with scarecrows and fall décor at businesses, homes and churches around town. Take a drive around and enjoy the artistic talents of those who decorate for the season.

• The Lighthouse Church, at the corner of 3rd and Emison, will hold a Harvest Party on Oct. 31 from 5-7pm. This is a community block party with fun for all ages. There will be carnival games, a bounce house, food and candy! Show your school spirit with, a blue and white, or wear a fun costume.

• Mary Shelton is starting to prepare for the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov. 22. If you can help by volunteering for set up, serving, clean up, making desserts or side dishes, or donating funds to purchase turkeys and ham, please contact Mary at 541-212-2987.
