New coffee shop is open in Nyssa

Plenty of customers keep Kiersten Kramer, the manager of the Cattle Drive Coffee and Grill, busy throughout the week. The new business is at North Sixth Street in Nyssa. (The Enterprise/Pat Caldwell).

NYSSA – Kiersten Kramer loves Fridays.

That’s because at the end of the week the smiles are a little wider when customers pull into the drive-up window at the Cattle Drive Coffee and Grill.

“Friday is definitely a busy day, but Friday people are usually in a good mood because it is the end of the week and they’re looking forward to the weekend,” said Kramer.

Cattle Drive Coffee is owned by Clint Koplin and opened in early September.

Kramer is the manager of the Cattle Drive Coffee and Grill on North Sixth Street and supervises four employees.

Kramer said her parents owned a coffee shop in Parma when she was in high school and she spent a lot of hours working there.

Cattle Drive Coffee is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The coffee shop is closed on Sunday.

Kramer’s day begins at 4:30 a.m. each day and she is behind the drive-up window by 5:45 a.m. Kramer said she doesn’t mind the early days.

“I love the environment here,” said Kramer.

Cattle Drive Coffee offers gourmet hots dogs, iced drinks and coffee drinks such as cappuccinos, Americanos, mochas and lattes.

Kramer said Cattle Drive Coffee provides a quick breakfast as well and that includes breakfast sandwiches and muffins.

Cattle Drive Coffee is a small business but Jim Maret, Nyssa City Manager, said it is making a big impact.

“Any new business in our city is huge. So, for us Cattle Drive Coffee and Grill is just one more good addition to our city,” said Maret.

Kramer said Cattle Drive Coffee has no trouble attracting customers.

“It has been really busy,” said Kramer.
