Nyssa council has vacancy to fill

NYSSA – Nyssa is looking for a new city councilor with last week’s resignation of Buddy Mendive, who said he is moving to Fruitvale, Idaho with his family.

Mendive’s term runs to the end of this year. 

While he would like to have continued, he said, “I’ve just got too many irons in the fire.”

“I wish I could finish, but under the circumstances, I can’t,” said Mendive, who owns his own business doing “a little bit of everything.” 

The Nyssa City Council is looking to fill his spot “immediately,” said Marla Roberts, the Nyssa city recorder. 

Council members must be residents of Nyssa for at least six consecutive months, and also must be registered voters.
