West Nile virus detected near Harper

The Malheur County Health Department confirmed today that West Nile virus was detected near Harper.

The virus was found in mosquitoes trapped June 14.

The Malheur County Vector Control District is continuing with its surveillance and spraying operations throughout the county in response to the positive West Nile virus test.

The Health Department recommends residents eliminate all sources of standing water that can be breeding ground . . .
