What’s going on: health fair in Nyssa, Vale’s annual city-wide yard sale and a hoedown in Ontario.

 

After successful runs in Harper, Adrian and Jordan Valley, the Spring Into Wellness Fair comes arrives in Nyssa on Saturday.

The fair takes place at the Valley Family Dental facility starting at 4 p.m. and running until 6 p.m.

As with the past events, a raffle of two bicycles will take place along with door prizes and gift baskets.

Offered during the fair will be free health screenings, eye tests, blood sugar and blood pressure testing, bone density screenings and oral health exams.

The fair is sponsored by the Malheur County Community Advisory Council and features more than 25 community providers. During the first three years of the event, over 2,600 residents attended.

 Yard sale time

VALE – Get ready to pick up some treasures and bargains, as Vale’s citywide yard sale gets underway this Friday and Saturday. The event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce, and maps will be available showing sale locations throughout town.

Let’s Hoedown

The community is invited to the third annual Hoedown this Friday at the Malheur County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 6 p.m. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., and a dance at 7:30. 

Tickets cost $20 and available at Halcom State Farm Insurance, the Ontario Chamber office, and Berts Growler Garage.

Pops goes the concert

The Treasure Valley Symphony presents a Pops Concert Friday at the Meyer-McLean theater in the Four Rivers Cultural Center. General seating is $10 with tickets available at Red Apple Marketplace, the FRCC gift shop, and at the door. For more information, call 541-881-5585. 

• The Hispanic community of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Vale is inviting all to celebrate Cinco De Mayo on Saturday. The celebration is from 4 to 8 p.m., with special entertainment at 7 p.m. and a dance following.

Plant sale set

The third annual Project Dove plant sale starts Tuesday, May 8, at the Garden Gallery in Ontario, 469 SE 2nd St. The event continues through May 14. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 971-409-4362.

Time to sign up for June Relay

Signups for sponsors, volunteers and teams are underway for the June 8 Relay for Life of Four Rivers at Ontario High School. Cancer survivors and supporters are invited to attend the event.
