Mary Froerer Hansen

Mary Froerer Hansen passed from this life on March 26 of causes incident to old age. Mary was born on May 30, 1917, in Eden, Utah, to George Froerer and Ane Oline Rosenkilde Froerer. She was the eighth of nine children. The family later moved to Riverdale, Utah, where Mary graduated from Ogden High School. She married Alva Duane Hansen on July 17, 1937, in Ogden and they made their home in Brigham City, Utah, where their first child, Lee, was born in 1940. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS temple January 3, 1945. They moved to Vale, Oregon, in 1942 where they dairy farmed on the west bench. Two children, Dee and Marie, joined the family in 1948 and 1949. Mary was active in the LDS faith, serving in various callings, including Relief Society president of the Vale Ward. Two years after her husband passed away, Mary moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, in 2008 to be near her son Dee. Mary was known for her beautiful yard, paintings, and quilts. She loved to read the scriptures and good books. She liked to fish with Al in the evenings at Bully Creek Reservoir and found joy in helping those who were in need. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight siblings, and one granddaughter, Linda Michelle Hansen. She is survived by her three children: Lee (Judi) Saratoga Springs, Utah; Dee (Judy), Twin Falls, Idaho; and Marie Hansen Groberg, Twin Falls, Idaho; 19 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at the LDS chapel at 723 Hankins Road N., Twin Falls, Idaho. A viewing will be held before the funeral from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Graveside services will be Saturday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Valley View Cemetery in Vale. The family wishes to extend appreciation to the employees of Chardonnay Assisted Living and Auburn Crest Hospice for their loving care in our mother’s last years. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.

Jon Allison Hall
September 12, 1958 ~ March 21, 2018
Jon was born Sept. 12, 1958, fifth child to Douglas and Margery Hall of Vale. He entered into rest on March 21, 2018. Jon attended Willowcreek Elementary and Vale High School, graduating in 1976. Growing up, some of his favorite hobbies were basketball, tennis, and spending time in the outdoors. At age 17, he attended Bible College in Michigan followed by missionary training and linguistic school where he met Cathy, his wife of 37 years. Together they served as missionaries to the Karenni people in Thailand from 1982 through 1997, during which time they had three children, Shannon, Amy, and Andy. Jon was passionate about sharing the Gospel and translating scripture into the Karenni language. In 1997 he moved with his family to Amarillo where he worked for UniFirst while earning a bachelor’s degree in business management. He then began working at Amarillo College while continuing his work translating the Bible and ministering to the immigrant Karenni Church. Jon is survived by Cathy Reeves Hall of Amarillo; Shannon and Dibrell Kirk of Spearman, Texas; Amy and Clint Anderson of Denver, Colorado; Andrew and Meaghan Hall of Amarillo; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Kathy Weil of Burns, Oregon, and Rose Sparks of Emmett, Idaho, as well as brothers Steve Hall of Vale and Ed Hall of Tangent, Oregon, along with multiple nieces and nephews. A celebration of life was held in Amarillo on March 24, 2018.

Ked Al Dejmal

Ked Al Dejmal, of Eugene, OR passed away on March 14 at the age of 83. He was born in Chester, Nebraska, on December 15, 1934, to Amos and Naomi (Peake) Dejmal. He grew up near Ontario, Oregon, and graduated from Ontario High School. Ked was predeceased by his son Alan Russel Dejmal and his wife Nina. He leaves behind daughter Sheri (Carlin) Hagen of Janesville, California, and their sons Alan Wayne Hagen of Shafter, California, and Ethan (Sydney) Hagen of Sacramento; and daughter Lynette (Dan) Andersen and their sons Nathan Ked Andersen, Joshua Spencer Andersen, and Luke Daniel Andersen, all of Vale; brother Roger (Libby) Dejmal of Roseburg, Oregon; niece Lori (Cory) Schwepler and their five children; nephew Scott (Kim) Dejmal and their daughter; and many friends. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at Eugene Friends Church in Eugene. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Eugene Friends Church, 3495 W 18th Ave., Eugene, Oregion 97402, marked Ked Dejmal Missions Fund.
