Perry DeWayne Galloway, Roderick H. McKay,

Perry DeWayne Galloway

Feb. 16, 1939 ~ Jan. 10, 2018

Perry DeWayne Galloway left those he loved on January 10, 2018. He was born to Bill and Lorraine Galloway on February 16, 1939, in Vale, Oregon, and raised by his grandparents, Perry and Mamie Boles.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and he loved the United States, but he was not a Trump fan and he let everyone know where he stood.

He was preceded in death by brother, Bill Galloway and granddaughter, Cierra Rosalind Lillian Berry.

The highlights of his life were his family and his four-legged companion, Hannah, who was with him until the end.

He leaves behind his children; daughter, Monti Galloway-Smith and husband Jeff, from Mauldin S.C.; daughter, Carrie Stappart and husband Jim, from Reno, Nevada; son, Perry Douglas Galloway, from the Seattle area; and son, Dale Eller from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Amanda Lorraine, his Sunshine; Irish Rose, his Pure of Heart; and John Perry, his Apprentice of Dominoes. He leaves behind siblings: Donna York (who passed on January 15) and husband Roger; Janice Hamner and husband Terry, both from Irrigon, Oregon; Karen Christiansen and husband Larry from Bakersfield, California.

He was loved by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Anyone who knew him, knew that he could be stubborn and at times, he could be downright contrary. For those unlucky enough to have played games with him, you knew he was going to cheat – even when you were on the same team.

We leaned many things from this man, but mostly how to love each other. Because Perry loved picnics, we are asking you to join us on June 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Wadleigh Park, Pavilion 2, in Vale for a picnic in his honor, to share laughter, love, pictures, and stories about him.

In memory of Perry, the family suggests you take time to randomly give someone a hug, or a kind word, or a few dollars to help spread kindness.
