Myrtle Smith Gardner Hiatt was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Nampa, Idaho to her parents Edna Smith Gardner of Pleasant Grove, Utah and father Dellosse Albert Gardner of Wallsburg, Utah. She lived in Kuna, Idaho until she was 10, when her family moved to Vale, Oregon to farm. She remembered that day clearly: Dec. 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor Day.
She met her eternal companion Neil in high school and after his mission to the Southern States, they were married in the Salt Lake City LDS temple on May 26, 1953. They were married for 65 years and had seven children. Through many wonderful years their blessings and joy increased as they . . .
