POSITION:
Assistant City Clerk
The City of Nyssa, Oregon is seeking a highly ethical, principled, and talented Assistant City Clerk. The Assistant City Clerk must maintain outstanding customer service to other city departments, and externally to the public who visit city hall to pay for services, and understand the challenges of municipal finance. Maintain regular City Hall office hours Monday through Friday maximum of 23 hours per week. Starting salary minimum wage or DOE.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
US Citizen, High School Diploma or GED required. This position performs a variety of skilled functions including but not limited to receptionist, utility management, cash receipting, utility billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Receive all monies payable to the City, and keep accurate records of all monies received; distribute all monies received among the various funds of the city in a manner provided by State laws or by City Code. Deposit all monies received within a reasonable time in the depository designated by the City Council. Applicant accepting employment must be 18 years of age.
EDUCATION: Knowledge of Caselle utility management is preferred. The combination of experience, education, or training that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the required duties. Preference may also be given to applicants who have municipal experience. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is preferred.
