Viks take win over Weiser

The Enterprise

Despite breezy weather, Vale was able to complete its tennis match with Weiser Monday afternoon on the Vikings’ home courts.

With strong showings by both boys and girls, the Vikings took a 10-2 overall win for the meet. The girls went 6-0 and the boys, 4-2.

The match had been scheduled originally for March 18, but was delayed by weather.

“It was nice being able to make up our match against Weiser from a couple weeks ago,” said Vale coach Ryan Seals.

He said Weiser is going to have a good team.

“I felt that we played some pretty good tennis considering the wind conditions,” the coach said. “I was especially proud of Tessa McFetridge in No. 1 girls singles. She had to battle after she fell behind in the second set, but she corrected the ship and closed out the match against a very good opponent.”
